Barbara Breitsprecher from a German newspaper wrote:
Around 100 people came to see Gavin James in the Schlosskeller. It was the third time he had been invited to play there. This time it was full house.
James impressed the people with his melodic singing style and his virtuosity on guitar and banjo. He played an interesting and varied programme, ranging from Blues, Irish Music, self composed songs and popular Oldies. Bob Dylans “Knocking on heaven’s door” got the audience singing along with him and Eric Clapton’s “Lay down Sally” set the feet tapping. His amusing stories of his experiences travelling helped to make a warm and relaxed atmosphere in Schlosskeller.
The success of this concert showed that with the right events the cultural scene in Emmendingen is still very much alive.
